I don't stresslax, but that is due to thinking about what is relaxing for me and not accepting someone else's idea of what is supposed to be relaxing. I like being busy, having focus. So sometimes doing small and amusing projects (like making postcards) is relaxing. Sitting still isn't relaxing for me unless I think of it as a set task in and of itself. Like waiting. I can wait for a long time because I think of waiting as the job at hand.
NB: It took me decades to realize that a) productivity is a coping mechanism I use to drown out other noise and b) productivity is not by itself valuable. You can read that second point also as there is a difference between motion (waving your arms all about) and action (swimming) and being able to tell the difference is important.
Oh, and I'm interested in this family plot storyline.
I totally agree. For me, productivity is definitely a coping mechanism. I think I'm at my most productive when I'm dealing with a very challenging situaton - it's displacement activity. And my version of relaxing is entirely personal. Curiously, I think I feel most relaxed when I'm in 'flow mode' when I'm working. That wonderful sense of timelessness and ease. Love it. I crave it!
First off, I am glad you are feeling better!
